Imagine being able to send a postal letter via a website. You simply type the letter in your web browser window, click submit and it's printed near its destination and put in traditional postal mail systems. It would save stationary, buying stamps and trips to the Post Office. Next day delivery from the UK to Australia will be a reality.
This service is L-Mail, and it has been developed by QiQ who now operate the service on a daily basis.
L-Mail.com is the most sophisticated site launched by QiQ. It allows users to enter and format text for their letters, see prices in one of five currencies and choose which of many international printing/posting locations they would like their letter sending from.
Behind the scenes, web based interfaces allows transactions to be authorised or declined in real-time and letters to be printed and posted.

L-Mail users see the status of their L-Mail by simply entering the unique reference number provided when they send a letter in the tracking box on the L-Mail home page. Users can then see when their letter is queued, has been printed and finally when its on its way in the postal system. The L-Mail online tracking system is updated in real time.
L-Mail.com is committed to providing customers with a secure transaction and have asked SquareTrade to monitor the website on a daily basis for vulnerabilities. The daily SquareTrade security scan simulates an unauthorised user and seeks out over 200 of the most significant internet security vulnerabilities identified by the SANS Institute and the National Infrastructure Protection Center (NIPC) at the FBI. |
